Confined Space

OSHA’s Permit Required Confined Space standard requires the employer to train the employees whose work is covered by the standard to safely perform their assigned duties. Therefore, training is required for authorized entrants, attendants, entry supervisors and rescue personnel. This standard is performance oriented and does not specify the hours of required training. However, depending on the current knowledge of these individuals, 4 – 8 hours of training should be sufficient. Those individuals, whose duties include rescue, must simulate a rescue scenario on an annual basis. AESI conducts customized Permit Required Confined Space Training for companies at their job sites or at our Training Center. Employees must also receive additional training and demonstrate understanding, if inspection or conditions show, that the employees are not following established procedures or that safety has been compromised.
