Lead Inspector

Requirements: High School Diploma /3 Years Experience

This 3-Day class certifies individuals to conduct lead-based paint inspections and perform clearance wipe tests. The course emphasizes proper inspection techniques, state-of-the-art instrumentation and elements of an inspection report. Differences between single family and multi-family inspections are discussed along with current EPA clearance levels. Each class goes to a single family dwelling for a practice inspection as part of the hands-on activities. Each student must pass a 50-question exam to qualify for certification. After students complete the training course, they have to successfully pass an exam issued by EQB.
